Bready bunch secure Premier Division status

David Scanlon’s side got off to a terrible start as they slumped to 34 for four with Gareth Heywood getting two wickets.

The Magheramason men soon recovered with a valuable fifth wicket patrnership between Brian Crumley and Mark Olphert which produced 73 runs ended when Olphert departed for 36.

Craig Young joined Crumley and their partnership of 160 virtually took the game away from the Foxies, although the Ballymagorry’s men bowling was to say the least was very poor.

Crumley reached his century with a quickly taken single before Young was out for 72.

Crumley finally was out for a chance less innings of 127. Adam Warnock with a quick 25 not out saw the innings close on 313 for nine.

The Foxies openers Jason Milligan and Luke Hughes got their reply off to a solid start with a partnership of 74 before Hughes went for 21, Bready’s opening bowlers Craig Young and David Scanlon bowled 29 extras in the first 76 runs.

Brian Allen and Milligan took the score to 160 before Milligan was bowled by Young for an excellent 57. When skipper Allen was bowled by young Reece Kelly the game was virtually over even though Gareth Heywood chipped in with 25 the innings closed on 232 to leave the Foxies playing championship cricket for another season.

In the Eric Cooke Memorial cup final Brigade scored 202 and bowled Killyclooney out for 126, while in the Mid Week Cup final Donemana needing four off the last ball saw Willie McBrine hit a six to defeat Ardmore.

Gary McCintock top scoring with 95, while Paul Brolly was Ardmore’s top scorer with 67.
