It had all seemed plain sailing for the Magheramason team after they dismissed the Roe Valley side for just 106 in Saturday’s first innings.

Ivan McDaid with 27 and Andy Doey (22) fared best for Crindle while Dean McCloskey bowled superbly to finish with 5-18 and Geoff McConnell added 2-12.

Bready’s reply saw the runs shared around- Andy Harpur top scoring with 54 while Trevor Dougherty (43) and skipper Ian Cooke (39) also played well. Gregory McDaid (3-27) fared best with the ball while Ivan McDaid (2-31), Gareth Martin (2-44) and Jamie Doey (2-50) were also on target however with a total of 207, the Tyrone men had a 101 run lead.

Crindle’s second innings also started poorly as Harpur removed all five of the top order and when stumps were pulled on Saturday night they were staring down the barrel of an innings defeat on 56-5.

Sunday’s resumption had allowed Crindle time to re-group however and they went on the attack straight away.

Stevie Martin added 43, Andy Doey 41 and Andy Crown 24 as Crindle raced past the deficit and left Bready a further 87 to win. Kenny Allen claimed three wickets to add to Harpur’s man-of-the-match 5 but Ian Cooke’s side then made hard work of the 4th innings.

Four wickets for Andy Doey and two apiece for Ivan and Gregory McDaid had Bready’s dressing room looking very edgy before a quick 23 from McConnell eased the nerves.

Clive McCorkell added a valuable 21 while Lindsay Allen hit the winning runs as Bready fell over the winning line.
