Bready Ladies claim cup after impressive final win

Wilkinson hit three fours in her vital innings which helped Bready post 78 in front of a large crowd at a sun drenched Burndennett.

Toni Miller (3-20), Julie Logue (2-16), and Elaine Neely (2-21) were the pick of the Foxies attack.

Julie Logue (15) got Fox Lodge off to a breezy start, but the dismissal of her and Emma Sproule saw a batting collapse which saw them dismissed for 38.

Kellie-Ann Carlin picked up four wickets for 20, while Bready skipper Jemma Rankin was also among the wickets, taking three for six.

Presenting the trophy, North West Warriors coach Bobby Rao paid tribute to Burndennett for their excellent hosting of the final.

Match umpires Raymond Doherty and Raj Padmanabhan were the player of the match adjudicators and plumped for Wilkinson.

Meanwhile also on Monday evening, Donemana reached the final of the Faughan Valley T20 Cup when they beat Ardmore by 42 runs.

Kamran Sajid top scored with 63 as Donemana posted an imposing 203 for five - Andy McBrine making 46, and Dwayne McGerrigle a quickfire 44 from just 15 balls, which included six sixes and two fours.

McGerrigle then claimed three wickets for 14 runs as Ardmore were dismissed for 161 - Decker Curry hitting five sixes in his 44.

In the delayed quarter-final of the same competition, Eglinton shocked Brigade to win by 29 runs.

Irish international Stuart Thompson top scored with 53 as Eglinton posted 136 for 8.

Craig Averill then claimed 4 for 14 as Brigade were dismissed for 107.

Eglinton now play holders Coleraine tomorrow (Thursday) night for the right to meet Richard Kee’s side in the final.
