Buchanan inspires Bready Ladies to impressive victory

While Foyle College reached the quarter-finals of the Ulster Bank Schools Cup with a resounding nine wicket win against Friends School at Duncreggan Road.

R Scott’s 28 was the only contribution as Friends were bundled out for just 51 - three wickets apiece for Dylan McCloskey and Richard Long.

Ethan Lapsley was forced to retire hurt from the first ball of the Foyle reply - struck on the elbow by a Cochrane short ball.

Ireland Under 19 star Andrew Austin struck five boundaries in a quickfire 25 before being dismissed with just six needed.

Alford hit three fours and a six in an unbeaten 18, while Long finished on two not out.

Foyle now play Campbell College for a semi-final slot.
