Calling all coaches

THE second North West Coaching Forum will take place in Strabane this month with Sean Cavanagh providing the keynote address for this biannual event.

A number of other excellent speakers will also be delivering workshop sessions on the night; with Sharon Madigan (nutrition), Paul Connolly (sports psychology) and Mike McGurn (strength and conditioning) all in attendance.

The Forum is planned to support the education of sports coaches and raise the profile of coaching in the North West region. Michael Cooke Coaching & Club Development Consultant for the North West region was full of enthusiasm for the event.

He said, “After the success of the first NW Coaching Forum in 2011, it was essential that we put together another strong event for this year. The Coaching Forum will be an excellent opportunity for sports coaches to gain knowledge and receive guidance from experts across a range of sports. I would encourage all coaches regardless of sport or discipline to attend the event, as I’m sure they will be able to take something away which will support their education and development.”

Coaches and volunteers from all sports are invited to attend these educational sessions focusing on a number of key themes within coaching. The expert speakers will offer practical and knowledgeable learning for participants.

The event will take place on Thursday 28th February at the Alley Theatre, Strabane; lasting from 6pm – 9.30pm. The admission is free.

Registration forms should be returned to Pauline O’Neill, Railway Street, Strabane, BT82 1EE. Participants must register in advance.
