Carrick clinch T20 title
Carrickfergus Cricket Club claimed its first-ever Northern Cricket Union Cup success when they defeated Derriaghy by 11 runs to win the Lagan Valley Steels Twenty20 Trophy on Thursday evening.
Carrick skipper Iain Parkhill won the toss and chose to bat first. Michael Gilmour was in impressive form, top-scoring with 45 runs as the Middle Road men posted 138 for 6.
Derriaghy’s response was 127 for 5 with Indrajeet Kamtekar the best of the Carrick bowlers taking 2/23.
