“This has been 30 years in the making and is one for North West Cricket.

“This is a tremendous victory for Coleraine and for the North West. Hopefully all the teams can draw inspiration that we can compete with the NCU and LCU.

“We would like to thank everyone past and present who have contributed to our success.”

It completed a tremendous weekend for the club after they beat Strabane by three wickets on Saturday to keep up their charge for the North West Senior League title. Coleraine elected to field first at Strabane Park after Davy Cooke had won the toss and it turned out to be the right decision as the Bannsiders’ bowlers showed their worth again bowling the hosts out for 136.

Coleraine’s batsmen knew that batting was not going to be easy on this surface and so it proved. After a seemingly comfortable start, five wickets fell in quick succession. However Paul Douglas, Gordon Cooke and Mark Averill steadied the ship to see Coleraine through.
