Williams scored 82 not out, Craig Averill (50) and Ireland international Stuart Thompson (51) ensured The Villagers secured an impressive six wicket win, to upset the Beechgrove men this afternoon.

Eglinton have now home advantage in August’s final against cup holders Donemana, unfortunately Averill brothers Craig and Mark will miss the showpiece final, as Mark is getting married on the Saturday and Craig is his best man.

Meanwhile in the Premiership, Coleraine got revenge on Donemana, as they had a comfortable seven wicket win at the Holm.

Ireland bowler Graeme McCarter picked up four wickets as the Bannsiders bowled Donemana out for just 179; leaving N McDonnell (39), K Vardhan (70 not out) and Rishi Chopra (34 not out) to guide them home to victory and move them two points clear at the top of the table.
