Cricket: Four sides keep NW Senior Cup hopes alive

In the local derby at Killyclooney the home side scored a respectable 197 against the cup holders Donemana but Richard Kee’s side had no trouble reaching their target for the loss of just one wicket, the man of the match was Donemana’s Gary McClintock who picked up four wickets including a hat-trick and then made 56 not out.

Brigade last seasons beaten finalists travelled to Ardmore and won by four wickets.

The Bleachgreen men batting first scored 237 for 6 thanks to 80 from professional Foster Mutizwa and 73 from Decker Curry. Brigade got off to a flyer with Ian McGregor and Gareth McKeegan sharing in a first wicket stand of 130 before McGregor went for 56, the visitors lost 4 quick wickets including McKeegan’s who made 94 however David Murdock and Chris Dixon saw their side through.

Eglinton thanks to a last wicket stand of 36 between Ross Allen and Simon Olphert defeated Drummond.

The Roesiders made 183 with Andy Christie top scoring with 48, Eglinton slumped to 149 for 9 before the above mentioned came to their sides rescue.

Coleraine also reached the last four with a 5 wicket win over visitors Bready, the Magheramason men scored 214 for 9 with professional Michael Loubser scoring a half century, however an excellent 90 from Scott Campbell saw the Bannsiders safely through.
