The former Limavady all-rounder broke his wrist a few weeks ago and while he isn’t likely to feature in this weekend’s trip to North County, he may return for their next league game on Sunday, May 18, at Bready.

“Decker is ready to play again,” he insisted.

“Although the cast is still on his hand he’s still looking to come back and I think he’s going to play next week whatever happens, he’s that type of player.

“We are fortunate that our next league game isn’t for two weeks so he should be back at least for that.”

The West Indian, who helped the Bleachgreen men secure the Sam McConnell Memorial Championship Cup on Sunday, feels they’ll do alright in the Premiership this season.

“It’s going to be a tough season, but every game we win will help our confidence and I’m confident that we have the players to hold our own and the most important thing for us that we are competing and giving ourselves chances.”
