“Everyone at the club is excited at the prospect of Decker playing at Ardmore; he is the player that the neutrals all come to watch and the chance to play with him from a personal perspective is something I’m relishing. We had to wait a while for the move to happen as you say but we know the quality of Decker and quality players are not easy to find.”

“We have already started pre-season training and the club is taking the 2014 season very seriously. We are not looking to enter the Premier League and fight for sixth place either; we got a taste of winning trophies last year and we want that to continue. With the imminent arrival of an opening bowler I feel that the league and cup competitions are what Ardmore should be targeting this season and in order to do that every player need to be at the top of their game.

“I am aware of the challenge that we are setting ourselves due to the quality of the teams we will be competing with, but I think we have the players and fight to mount a challenge.”

The Ardmore captain was unable to elaborate on who their new strike bowler would be just yet but he did confirm that two of last season’s major players would be back.

“I can confirm that both Andrew Riddles and Adrian Murphy will be staying with us for the coming season which is a big bonus. Everyone knows the talent that “Aggie” has and he showed it with the Warriors and Ardmore last year. Adrian in my opinion is the best wicket keeper/batsman in the region and I’m sure he will show the North West just how good he is in the Premier League. We have also brought former players Phil Patterson and Ciaran McDermott back to the club.”
