Missing four of their star players the visitors knew it would be a long day when they were asked to field first.

Derriaghy openers Ross Bailey (27) and Dean Ferris brought up 50 in 8 overs before Bailey was first to fall.

Craig Lewis then joined Ferris and soon the all rounder was dispatching boundaries as Ferris played the anchor role. Dean finally went for 28 but this only brought in-form Yogesh Takawale to the crease and for the next 90 minutes he treated the local support to a majestic display of hitting.

Lewis having struck 70 was finally dismissed and he was replaced by Andy Kenny who carried on where Lewis had left off hitting boundaries to all parts in his 64. It was, however, the Indian Yogesh who really made light of the visitors attack finishing just 3 short of a double century making 197 not out from 91 balls faced. At the end of 50 overs the total was 425 for 5.

Donaghcloney knew their luck was out with the early dismissal of opener Bruce Topping and although their Indian professional Mansing top scored with 30 before being one of Kenny Gilliland’s 5 victims they quickly folded for 78 all out.

Gilliland finished with 5 for 33 in 10 overs while Lewis and Mark Stinson also picked up a couple of wickets.
