The Derriaghy reply suffered the early loss of captain R Malone but Brown showed his all round ability hitting a superb 27 and sharing in a couple of useful partnerships as they got home with six balls to spare.

Derriaghy’s push for the League 1 title was put on hold at the weekend when their scheduled game at Woodvale fell foul of the weather.

Muckamore, their nearest challengers, also had their match postponed so it’s no change in the promotion race.

Derriaghy play their final two games this weekend, at home to Templepatrick (11am) on Saturday and then go to Woodvale for their rearranged match 2 on Sunday (1pm).

All support for the team will be very welcome.
