After a shaky start and loss of an early wicket Lurgan soon rallied and began scoring at a steady pace. A quick fire 36 from Hannah Grieve (5 fours, 1 six) provided a great platform for the rest of the team to build.

After Grieve was retired Samantha Bann (26) and Julie Morrow (22) continued scoring regularly and sensibly until first Bann (bowled) and Morrow (lbw) were removed. However Jane Kilpatrick (18*) and Chloe Neville (26*) soon picked up the pace once again and saw Lurgan through to a convincing total of 159 from their 20 overs.

Lurgan didn’t underestimate the batting of CSNI, and when their opener White (30) began scoring regularly the total looked in jeopardy. However Lurgan tightened up and a maiden from Lois Lyttle (0-21) helped slow the run rate. When Bann(2-11) bowled White the game swung back in Lurgan’s favour. A good catch from Grieve off the bowling of Jackie Conn(2-15) in the next over put them well in control. Wicket keeper Morrow took a good catch to give Bann her second wicket and then a superb run-out by Lyttle effectively ending CSNI’s chances. Kilpatrick(2-8) took a wicket in each of her first two overs and Conn finished off with her second wicketo restrict CSNI to a total of 75 all out.
