The Waterside men won the toss and decided to put the visitors into bat but man of the match Dean Mehaffey played his part in the Holm men posting 133 runs from their 20 overs.

Brigade never really got going and when Ireland international Andy McBrine came into the bowling attack along with Jordan McGonigle, the two spinners tied the home side down and the Warriors skipper also took the big wickets of Andy Britton and David Murdock.

For skipper William McClintock he was thrilled the Tyrone men secured, what was their seventh cup success in the past nine years, and he was looking forward to the celebrations.

"It's class winning the senior cup, it's something you can't beat," he stated.

"The senior cup is going back home to where it belongs as far as I'm concerned, it's the cup that we always play for every year and there's nothing more important to Donemana than winning the senior cup."

McClintock conceded that he was always confident that his bowling attack would put enough pressure on the Beechgrove men, which in the end turned out to be the case.

"We always knew that if we took a few wickets, they would panic and that's exactly what happened, so we are happy enough with that," he explained.

"Brigade put us into bat and they probably thought they would skittle us out, but there was no chance of that happening today."

McClintock was delighted that cricket was staged in the North West this summer and that his side managed to win the big one.

"It was a strange season, we had everything to play for today and we just gave it our all and thank God we came out the winners," he added.

"It didn't matter to us that it was a T20 season, or 50 over games or two day finals, it's still the senior cup and our aim when we came in here today was to make sure that we took it home."
