Fledglings to wield the willowindoors during winter months

North West Development Officer, Brian Allen, has announced a new series of indoor leagues for Primary Schools across the region which will be held over the winter.

The concept is the first of what the Union hopes will be a number of similar ventures, including an adult league, set to run between now and the start of the 2016 outdoor programme.

The Fox Lodge man said: “We are looking for as many Primary Schools as possible to enter. The leagues will be regionalised depending on proximity and we believe that this is an ideal way to get youngsters interested in the sport. This year’s outdoor hard-ball league was badly affected by the poor weather so hopefully this format will help compensate for that. Indoor cricket is great fun and a good form of exercise and we’re hoping for a good turnout from the schools.”
