Fleming-Agri to back the T20 Cup

The Faughan Valley Cup will be sponsored by Fleming-Agri while the Union’s newest addition, the Eric Cooke Memorial Plate will be sponsored by DD Penny Ltd.

George Fleming has had a long involvement with the sport in the North West and Fleming- Agri will be a very popular choice of sponsor among the local cricket fraternity.

The Faughan Valley Cup is probably the most valuable trophy on the circuit here and the Union is obviously delighted that it is to be linked to one of its most prominent supporters.

Conversely however, this will be Dan Penny’s first such venture in Irish cricket.

Mr Penny was a player at Bready for a number of years before returning to his native Manchester and he is also a son-in-law of Eric Cooke - hence the association.

Mr Penny suggested that he and the Cooke family were delighted that Eric’s memory was being preserved in cricket circles adding that they were all looking forward to watching the competition unfold and attending the finals day later in the summer.
