North West President Andrew Fleming and Vice President David Bradley made the draw and the former will no doubt come in for some stick from his team-mates having sent St Johnston away to holders Donemana.

Brigade, beaten by the Holm side in the last two deciders have a difficult looking opener away at Eglinton - one of two all-Premiership first round games. The second of those sees newly promoted Ardmore host 2011 winners Bready.

Elsewhere Coleraine, no doubt keen to make up for last season’s semi final exit will start red hot favourites at home to Bonds Glen.

Strabane have been chosen to host next year’s final and the Red Caps have a tricky first hurdle to negotiate away at Drummond. The Championship side saw off Bready on their way to the semi finals last time and will fancy another go here. Another Tyrone side, Fox Lodge, will also be a warm order when they make the short trip to Killyclooney, looking to book a quarter final spot.

The draw for the Sammy Jeffrey Shield and the Qualifying Cups will be made at Eglinton tonight (Thursday) at 7.30pm.

The draw in full: Sion Mills v Glendermott; Coleraine v Bonds Glen; Donemana v St Johnston; Burndennett v Creevedonnell; Eglinton v Brigade; Ardmore v Bready; Drummond v Strabane; Killyclooney v Fox Lodge. Ties are to be played Saturday, May 17.
