Smith was trapped lbw by Fiachra Tucker (1-53) , but Wiaan Mulder joined Verreynne in another significant stand of 62 to take South Africa to the brink of victory.

Verreynne had reached 77 from 109 balls (7 fours, 1 six) before being well caught by Tom Stanton off the bowling of Adan Dennison (1-27).

Mulder’s undefeated 43 guided SA safely home.
