Irish Cup test for Lisburn

Lisburn face Dublin side Leinster in the first round of the Bob Kerr Irish Cup in the Park this Saturday.

The squad is still missing key all rounder Greg Thompson due to Lisnagarvey’s involvement in the Irish Senior Cup but adds, Richard McConkey and Ulster rugby star Ian Whitten and 2nd XI captain Glen Halliday while Adam Berry in unavailable.

Their opponents have a pedigree in the Cup having lifted the trophy in 2009 and include a number of very useful cricketers; a large improvement is required from the Lisburn team especially in the batting department if they are to progress to the second round of a competition which has not brought much success over the past seasons.

The Twenty/20 game against Ballymena postponed from Bank Holiday Monday will be played at Wallace Park on Wednesday starting at 5.30pm.
