Lisburn face trip to The Lawn after match postponement

The postponement of last weekend’s match leaves Lisburn still with four league games to complete and the results could tilt their season’s success significantly.

Firstly, they travel to lowly placed Muckamore this Saturday and must be hopeful of winning at The Demesne.

Muckamore have yet to win a match after their return to the top flight and it would be a surprise if Lisburn did not take full points out of the game.

The team will be without professional Darryl who returned to South Africa during the week but look forward to Craig Ervine completing his 1000 Premier league runs for the season at some stage during the game. This is very rare event in Ulster cricket and even rarer for a Lisburn player simply emphasising the true class of the Zimbabwean.

On Sunday, Lisburn face Waringstown in the game postponed a few weeks ago and this will be a totally different story.

Their opponents, currently top of the Premier League, and having already defeated Lisburn comfortably in the Park back in May, will be looking to complete the double and maintain the lead.

However, Lisburn have a better record at The Lawn than they have at home against Waringstown but captain Davey Simpson will be looking for a much improved performance than the recent game against CSNI.

Their aim will be to score sufficient runs to put Waringstown under pressure and perhaps record a shock result which could boost Lisburn’s hopes of finishing in the top three at the end of the league campaign.

As well as this weekend’s two fixtures, Lisburn will meet North Down on August 30, whilst their match against Instonians, due to be played in the Park last Saturday, will also have to be rearranged.
