Make or break for villagers

IT could be a make or break weekend for Waringstown - weather permitting

They continue their defence of the Irish Senior Cup on Saturday when Dublin side, The Hills, are the visitors to The Lawn.

The following day they have a crucial Premier League game against old rivals North Down, again at The Lawn.

And the village club could collect their first silverware of the season today (Thursday).

Their Graham Cup team take on North Down in the final at Carrickfergus with a 2pm start.

Meanwhile Lurgan also face a big weekend as they chase promotion to the Premier section.

Riding high at the top of the section one table they take on fellow promotion hopefuls on Saturday and Sunday.

First up is the game against Downpatrick at Pollock Park.

Then on Sunday the town side travel to play Woodvale who are currently second in the table.

Unbeaten in the league two more wins for Lurgan would put them in prime position to return to the top flight.
