As well as joining the national selection panel, McGregor will also chair the North-West Warriors selection panel as part of the Inter-Provincial structure.

“Ian has a wealth of knowledge of players in the north-west, helped by his coaching and playing commitments over the last 30 years,” said Cricket Ireland Performance Director Richard Holdsworth.

“He is an excellent coach who is currently furthering his career with a BSc in Sports Coaching, and has been working as a Cricket Ireland Assistant Coach for the Ireland Under 19 programme. He has also been both the assistant coach and manager to the Warriors, but will now relinquish these roles.

“Ian will lead the selectors and add huge value supporting head coach Bobby Rao and the new assistant coach in driving the North-West Warriors forward over the coming years.”
