More woe for Banford Green side against Armagh

While it was the batting performance that got the Tullylish men into trouble on Saturday, this time they fielded first and suffered at the hands of the belligerent approach of the Armagh batsmen.

Despite losing opener Doyle for a duck off Charlie McCrum, their numbers twoto five amassed almost 200 runs between them.

A number of catches went down, but in general Millpark stuck to their task as the score mounted.

The fast scoring was hard to rein in as the batsmen rode their luck and got their eye in.

Late wickets did fall as Glover claimed 3-43, but it was too little too late.

Armagh ran up a total of 254-8, and as the teams retired to the tea interval, Millpark knew they had a lot to do.

It was, however, just eight days since Millpark had scored 256 in victory over Cooke, so they knew this was not mission impossible.

That positive feeling lasted about four overs as Millpark hit the self destruct button.

Charlie McCrum was brilliantly caught for 4four Ikram needlessly run out for 8, and Ben Talbot played a nothing shot as he returned to the clubhouse for a duck.

Stu McCart, who has been playing so well of late, managed just two, and he was soon following by Davy Glover.

Millpark were at this stage floundering on 69-6. Ryan McCart, (21), cousin Paul (36) and Jason Maxwell (16) restored some pride, but again it was too little too late.

Armagh ran out comfortable winners by 68 runs.
