It is a fresh looking Warriors team that has been named for the match with several of the established side unavailable for a variety of reasons. Craig Young is still in Sussex completing his pre-season preparations while Jason Milligan and Andy Britton have prior commitments.

Brian Allen will be on coaching duty with the Ireland under-15s and Aaron Gillespie, Andrew Austin and the McClintock twins, Gary and William have been selected for the Ireland under-19 squad for the match.

Ricky-Lee Dougherty misses out as well, the Donemana keeper two weeks short of full fitness following a serious hand injury during the winter, however Coach Rao believes it is an ideal opportunity for the fringe players to stake a claim for a more regular place.

“The game will give us a chance to look at the other two keepers in our squad as Andrew Austin and Kevin Martin will play in opposite teams. We’re obviously very pleased that Andy McBrine and Stuart Thompson will play while Graeme McCarter will be a fantastic addition to our squad”.

“This will also be a real chance for Ryan Hunter, Ryan Macbeth and Craig Averill to show what they can do at this level while Jarred Barnes and Gareth Burns will have an opportunity to shine with the ball. We had our first outdoor session on Wednesday night at Strabane so the boys are looking forward now to getting started for another season”

The Warriors team for the 50 over game is-

1. Andrew McBrine (captain) (Donemana)

2. Stuart Thompson (Eglinton)

3. Graeme McCarter (Coleraine)

4. David Rankin (Bready)
