New state of the art covers in memory of Percy Walker

A very important presentation took place in Wallace Park last week when Lisburn Cricket Club received new state of the art pitch covers from Cecil Walker and his family in memory of his brother Percy who died last year.

Percy was the youngest of the seven Walker brothers and had a real link with Lisburn Cricket Club. He played for Lisburn Boys and was a member of the team which won the Graham Cup back in 1949 when he was just 12 years old.

He went on to be an accomplished sportsman, becoming Ulster Boys Table Tennis champion and later when he played golf at Lisburn Golf Club he achieved 3 handicap status and won many trophies at the club in the course of his long membership.
