North v South squads named

THE North and South selection committees including national selectors Alan Lewis and Brian MacNeice (South) plus national team assistant coach Peter Johnston, and Peter Gillespie and Kyle McCallan (North), announced a 23-man training squad for the RSA Inter-Regional North/South one day and T20 Series which will commence on Sunday, June 3.

The squads feature a host of established internationals and will be captained by Kevin O’Brien (South) with John Mooney named as vice-captain, and Andrew White (North) with James Shannon named as vice-captain.

No less than 13 out of 16 members of the victorious Ireland World T20 Qualifier squad are included as well as other senior, A-team and under 19 internationals.

Fixture dates: Sunday 3rd June: The Mardyke, Cork; Sunday 22nd July: Stormont, NCU; Sunday 12th August: venue tbc, North West and Sunday 26th August: venue tbc, LCU.
