NW duo move upICC rankings

Ireland’s Boyd Rankin has risen 16 places to 28th, in the Reliance ICC Twenty20 International (T20I) Rankings for bowlers, his highest ranking to date.

Fellow North West man and Irish skipper William Porterfield has also risen up the rankings for batsmen to now occupy 44th place, his highest ranking to date, after he scored 117 runs in the five T20Is that he featured in.

Trent Johnston has broken back into the top 20 of the Reliance ICC Twenty20 International (T20I) Rankings for bowlers after the fast-medium bowler helped his side to victory in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2012 and thereby played a part in the side’s qualification for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 to be played in September.

In the ICC T20I Championship, Ireland’s win in the ICC WT20Q UAE 2012 has seen it rise to eighth in the Championship above ninth-placed West Indies, while Afghanistan has slipped to 10th in the table.
