The first of the North West Cricket Union’s General Meetings took place at Eglinton last week with a number of changes to the Union’s top table being ratified by voting delegates.

Alan Montgomery stepped down after his second spell as President and will be replaced by John McMillan with immediate effect.

General Secretary Jim Lindsay had given notice of his intention to step down earlier this month and that post will be taken on by George Brolly junior as the changes continue to be rung.

Robin Glenn has also indicated his intention to relinquish the fixture secretary position however there were no takers on the night and that issue will now fall to the Board of Control.

John Pierce is the new head of the Grounds Inspection Committee while Jordan McGonagle is a fresh face on the Cricket Operations Committee.

Andew Fleming, David Bradley and Peter McCartney were returned unopposed to the posts of Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Treasurer respectively.

Earlier, the Chairman advised that Cricket Ireland would be taking the lead in the upcoming Club Licence Scheme due to begin implementation in 2015.

The parent body feel that the Licence Scheme would be best served if applied throughout the Unions as opposed to individually and will work with the various boards for ease of transition.

The second General Meeting is set to take place in February however the domestic cup draws will take place at the start of December.

The Danske Bank Senior Cup draw will be carried out live on radio as has been the case in the past few years.
