The club used the money to upgrade the outfield at their home ground at The Cloughan, Ballyclare.

“We are very grateful to Newtownabbey Council for their ongoing support,” said TCC grounds convenor James Jackson. “Thanks to this latest funding and the work we have been able to carry out over the summer as a result, The Cloughan has never looked better.

“As well as using the ground for our senior games (men’s and ladies), youth matches and practices, we have also hosted an NCU cup final and representative matches this season.

“We have had a lot of positive feedback about the condition of the wickets and the outfield. The improvements we have made over the past couple of years mean the ground has never been in better shape.”

The club was one of nine organisations to benefit from the council’s latest round of funding for private sports clubs.
