Premier League action returns this weekend

Champions Strabane will be looking to get their first victory of the season when they face fellow strugglers St Johnston.

Ireland are also in town this week as they have a T20 International Series against Scotland at Bready starting tomorrow (Thursday) with matches on Friday and Sunday as well.

Eglinton v Brigade

The home side, although buoyed by reaching the cup-semi final, are still not firing on all cylinders. Too many of their batsmen are getting into the 20s or 30s and then getting out and if they can solve that then things will improve.

Brigade at last got their batting sorted out last week with Gareth McKeegan showing his true form. They also showed that they have strength in depth with talented youngsters David Murdock and Chris Dixon also showing true potential.

Prediction: Brigade

Donemana v Bready

The home side continued their unbeaten run last week. They changed their batting order slightly and it certainly worked. They are certainly the side to beat at the moment and there is more to come.

Bready have a good record at the Holm so they will travel with confidence. Both sides will be missing big players - Donemana will be without Andy McBrine while the visitors will be missing Craig Young who are both on international duty.

Prediction: Donemana

Strabane v St Johnston

The Red Caps have lost their opening three league games and it is a worrying time for last season’s champions. They do however have their professional back in their starting eleven which will certainly help.

The Saints, like their opponents, have yet to win a league game. One of their new signings Ryan Patton looks like being out for the foreseeable future with an injury while the rest of the side has struggled so the home side may come out on top.

Prediction: Strabane

Coleraine v Ardmore

Scott Campbell’s side are joint leaders with Donemana and are playing with a great deal of self -belief. They have all their players making contributions, the sign of a good side. They have been starved of success for to long.

Ardmore, although scoring over 200 last week, were let down by their bowling. It would appear that if Gary Neely doesn’t take early wickets then they are in big trouble.
