Record breaking Porterfield inspires Ireland

A record breaking unbeaten 127 from Irish skipper William Porterfield inspired his side to a crushing 75 run win against USA in the sweltering desert heat of Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday.

Disappointingly for Porterfield and Co their game today (Thursday) against Italy, incredibly didn’t take place because of rain in the UAE.

Two more wins, against Uganda on Friday and second placed Hong Kong on Sunday would see Ireland emerge as group winners and into the semi-finals of the tournament.

The match tomorrow against Uganda gets under way at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium at 10am (UK/Ireland).
