Reece, a talented all-rounder who has been at the club for five years, played for the Northern Cricket Union (Northern Knights) Interprovincial team in July this year.

He also played a vital part in Derriaghy U13s retaining their league title ‘The Queensway Shield’ in August hitting 40 not out in their final game against Lisburn.

Currently a pupil at Friends School, Reece first took an interest in cricket at Harmony Hill Primary School where Derriaghy youth coaches attend for sessions each week during summer term.

Reece has been rewarded for a lot of hard work to date and if he maintains the same work ethic he will progress a lot further in the game.

He sets the standard to the rest of the youth squad at Derriaghy and the coaching team at the club will be seeking to assist others to take similar steps in their cricket journey.

Head youth coach, Wayne Hughes, says he firmly believes Reece has the ability to cement a place in the Ireland team next year and will be giving him every support he can along the way.
