Roesiders hosttitle contenders

COLERAINE went two points clear at the top of Senior One after their comfortable win over Creevedonnell, however the chasing pack are breathing down their necks. Strabane joined Limavady in second spot just two points behind the leaders after defeating Donemana who are still very much in contention themselves.

Limavady are on fire at the moment and defeated Bready to put a damper on the Magheramasons sides title aspirations. Bonds Glen who got their first win of the season on Monday after defeating Glendermott, with the backlog of fixtures there will be double headers between now and the end of the season.

Saturday

Limavady v Strabane

Undoubtedly the match of the day, the Roesiders really fancy their chances of going all the way, they have been amassing some big scores recently and when you have a talented batsman in Chris Moore coming in at nine it shows their strength in depth.

The Red Caps even without Peter Gillespie last week proved to strong for Donemana, their professional Faisal Iqbal played a superb innings in that win and young Ryan Patton has done well with the new ball.

Prediction: Limavady.

Coleraine v Fox Lodge

The Bannsiders know that this will be their best chance ever to win the title, even with the departure of their professional they have still managed to produce the goods and if they remain in contention don’t rule out their pro returning.

The Foxies know that it is a straight fight between them and Glendermott for that third from bottom play off place and they know how important every game is between now and the end of the season.

Brigade v Bready

Games between these two are usually very competitive, Brigade although they look out of the title race will have a big say as to where it ends up, they will consider this season to have been good with their Ulster cup success.

David Scanlon’s side have had a blip in their last two games results that have seriously damaged their title hopes, still they on their day are a more than capable side, this one could be close.

Creevedonnell v Glendermott

Stephen Scroggie’s side have all but thrown the towel in and were struggling last week with a number of players not available, the experience in the top flight should stand to them in Senior Two next season.

Gordon Montgomery’s side will fight to avoid a possible play off with looks if it will be against Eglinton to retain Senior One status, this is a match they certainly can’t afford to lose.

Donemana v Bonds Glen

The home side should have their three under fifteen internationals available again and they have been missed as results recently have shown, their professional has also not been bowling at full pace because of a knee injury.

Richard Hepburn’s side will love their visit to the Holm as it may be a while before they get the chance to play their again yet another defeat seems a formality.

Glendermott v Brigade

There is always a good buzz when these two Waterside teams meet and there is quite a bit of rivalry, they both have different reasons for wanting to win the game and also the bragging rights, the visitors may come out on top.

These two sides met a week ago where Limavady were easy winners, the visitors must continue winning if they harbour hopes of clinching the Senior One title.

Bready having lost their last two fixtures have slipped down the table and are now depending on other clubs results to get them back in the title race.

Bonds Glen v Creevedonnell

This Twenty/20 affair takes extra significance after the Bee Gees victory on Monday evening.

Altough both sides look set to relegated there is still pride at stake in this one.
