SCHOOL CRICKET: Christie Memorial win Asda Kwik Cricket title

CHRISTIE Memorial Primary School are this years Asda Coleraine Kwik Cricket champions.

The competition played at Coleraine Cricket Club under perfect conditions proved a big hit with the nine schools that entered with 90 boys and girls taking part.

Following the qualifying games Portrush and Christie Memorial contested an exciting final to culminate in what turned out a fantastic fun filled morning of cricket.

Christie Memorial will now have the opportunity of representing Coleraine at the National finals at Stormont on Thursday 9 June.

The trophy was presented to the winning captain’s of the Christie Varun Chopra and Marcus Pokitt, by Sheila Palmer, Asda and Pakistan Test cricketer Mohammad Salman Coleraine Cricket Club’s professional for this season.

Thanks go to Asda for their continued sponsorship of the event and providing refreshments for the day and to Coleraine Cricket Club and Coleraine Borough Council’s Community Sport Programme for hosting and organising the day.
