The cup is for the eight top league sides, which are divided into two groups of four, with Lisburn joined this season by North Down, Instonians and Carrickfergus. The top two in each group qualify for the semi-finals and the final will be staged on Sunday June 14 at Waringstown.

The Hillsborough-based Lagan Valley Steels also sponsor the Twenty20 Trophy for Section 1 teams and the Twenty20 Shield for Section 2 and 3 sides, both of which are played on a straight knock-out basis. In their opening round of the Trophy, Derriaghy have received a bye into the second round where they will have home advantage over either Lurgan or Bangor.
