Under 13s enjoy famous Cup win

Lisburn U13s had a famous win in the Banogue cup semi-final on Monday night.

Put in to bat, the team had a great start with openers Jude Postlethwaite (20) and Michael Glass (15) racing to 43 off only 7 overs.

There was then a batting collapse but Tim Curragh was the hero by batting right through to the last ball for a vital 12 runs, ensuring the team managed to scramble a total of 95 for 8.

Carrick made a fast start but once captain Cameron McDowell removed their top player Max Burton, the Lisburn bowlers started to get on top.

Cameron ended up with 3 for 17, and Jude then destroyed the Carrick batting with a superb 5 for 10.

Lisburn won by 36 runs and go on to play Instonians or Waringstown in the final at end of July.

The U13s’ unbeaten season continues.
