Under 13’sbow out at semi-final stage
Lurgan Tigers U13s lost to Ballymena in the semi-final of the Banoge Cup. Batting first, Ballymena posted a good score of 126 for 3 with NCU players John Glass and James McClean making 61 and 35 respectively. Ben Hunter with two and Jack Maxwell were the Tigers wicket takers.
The Tigers lost both Callum Gibson and Jack Maxwell in the first two overs, but a fine innings of 49 not out by Max Lyttle, well supported by Harry Lockhart (15) and Qasam Mohammed (17 no) took the Tigers to 118 for 5, agonisingly 8 runs short.
Despite this defeat, the players can be very proud of their efforts this season in putting up a fine defence of the trophy the club won last year.
