The next number of Sundays are tied up with the T/20 finals scheduled for the 17th at Ardmore and the following Sunday the games that were postponed on July 12th are down for decision, that leaves the 31st as the only free Sunday this month.

The North West committee may have to look at extending their season especially if there was to be another washout.

There was good news for North West cricket on Sunday when the Warriors travelled to Pembroke knowing a victory over the Leinster Lighnings would secure the prestigious T/20 Trophy.

However due to adverse weather not a ball was bowled leaving skipper Andrew McBrine to lift the trophy a big boost for the Warriors for all their efforts.

This Saturday there are two games in the Premiership with another two on Sunday while also on Sunday in Strabane Bready play their biggest game of the season when they take on Waringstown in the Ulster Cup Final.

Bready v Eglinton

David Scanlon’s side might have one eye on Sunday’s cup final, however they haven’t quite given up hope in the league. They should be at full strength and will want to go into Sunday’s final on the back of a victory.

Eglinton’s main aim at the beginning of the season was to maintain their Premiership status, that has not quite been achieved just yet as they sit joint second from bottom and in the play off position. They need another victory.

Prediction: Bready

Fox Lodge v Donemana

Can the Foxies pull off a miracle and win at least three of their remaining six games? With no wins so far this season it is asking a lot however they remain upbeat and think they can do it.

Donemana will have a big say as to where the league title will end up. They probably have to much to do to actually win the title but as usual they will be going all out in their remaining games.

Prediction: Donemana

Sunday

Premiership

Coleraine v Strabane

Third against second at Sandel Lodge, the Bannsiders have shown their true form in their last three games, however they may have left it to late in their bid to retain the title, they need other results to go their way.

Will Strabane rue that controversial defeat by Brigade, they know that they are still in with a big shout for the title but they can’t afford any more slip ups, home advantage may make the difference.

Prediction: Coleraine

Ardmore v Brigade

The Bleachgreen men share the play off position with Eglinton and their rearranged game scheduled for the 31st will be of vital importance, however there are other games to be contested before then.

Brigade after losing the Senior Cup final know for this to be a good season they must capture the title.

Skipper Gareth McKeegan will know that he has to keep his troops concentrated in every game.

Prediction: Brigade

What a feat it would be if David Scanlon’s men were to win this one, at Strabane Cricket Club, they have the players to do it with the talented Barr brothers, David Rankin and an excellent pro in Ernest Kemm they rightly fear no one.

Waringstown are one of the best club sides in Ireland with a great history. however they are beatable as Civil Service North showed in the Northern Union Cup final a couple of weeks ago.

Prediction: Bready
