Young players hit the runs in an excellent win at Bangor

Lurgan Thirds had a 66 run win away to Bangor Fourths in a league game on Saturday.

Batting first, it was the young players in the side who were among the runs with Scott Wilson top scoring on 37.

Calum Gibson hit 33 and Jack Maxwell 22 as the visitors set a target of 137 for victory.
Qasam Mohammed was the Lurgan bowler who did most of the damage to the Bangor innings taking four wickets while Lewis Lawson claimed three wickets.

Jack Maxwell capped a fine all round performance by taking two wickets and a stunning catch off the first ball of the Bangor innings.

The home side were bowled out for 70 to give the Thirds four valuable points.

WORST

Meanwhile Donacloney Seconds struggled to a win despite putting in their worst performance of the season so far on Saturday.

Against a side rooted to the bottom of the league they allowed Cooke to put on 200 in 40 overs.

Opener Stevie Lyttle put on 41, with son Richard hitting a well timed 50 not out. Scott Armstrong made 25, Gareth Copeland 22, Rory Woods 26 and Paul Lyttle brought with 11 not out saw the villagers over the line by five wickets and jump to third in the league this season.
