Crushing Towns Cup defeat for Seconds

BALLYMENA Seconds and Dungannon Seconds eventually got their Towns Cup match played but it was a real disappointment for the home side who were beaten by 67 points to 12.

Ballymena took some time to settle and after about 10 minutes were 21 points down.

However they were still fighting hard and managed to pull back a try. They had another chance of a try but the ball was knocked on with the line beckoning.

The Braid men never recovered from this setback and just could not lift their game at all.

At half time Dungannon were leading by 33 points to 5. They continued to totally dominate the second half and eventually ran out winners by 67 points to 12.

This was a very disappointing day for the seconds but it has to be said that they were without a lot of players with long term injuries and their pack contained six props. This gives a lot of power but it does do much for the mobility of the forwards.
