Cuchullains awards
Danny Quinn was speaking after players from Dunloy Cuchullains’ U-14 squad visited the GAA exhibition in Ballymoney Museum for a medal presentation.
It was the first time in 22years that they reached the A final of the All-Ireland Feile Hurling competition where they finished runners-up to winners Kevin Lynch’s Dungiven.

Hide AdThe players received their silverware from Dunloy and County hurler, Paul ‘Shorty’ Shiels.
Mr Quinn told Times Sport: “We were successful this year for the first time in receiving funding from Ballymoney Borough Council for the Feile.
“We wanted to show our appreciation to the Council so we thought it would be nice to bring the young boys here to the exhibition for the medalpresentation.
“During t he Feile we played host to teams from County Laois who stayed in the area in local B&Bs.

Hide Ad“They stayed in local accommodation around Dervock and Stranocum and all commented on the wonderful welcome and hospitality they received.
“Many were first time visitors to this area and they were delightedat the hospitality they received.
“It really was a win/win situation for the Borough and helped the town’s economy.
“Hopefully we can look forward to the same next year if we are lucky enough to get into the County final,” he concluded.
