Cup competition for darts players

The following list is the venues and all teams should be present to start at 9pm sharp start and all venues must have at least two dartboards for the games. The entrance fee per team is 10 and this will be due a the next monthly meeting.

Venue One - Longfield Bar - Rising Sun A vs Rising Sun top flight B (Preliminary); Sportsman Inn vs Gort Na Drum B (Preliminary) and Riverside Bar D vs Longfield C. Venue Two - Rising Sun Bar - Eglinton CC B vs McKeevers A (Preliminary); Winners play Riverside Bar C; Eglinton CC A vs Rising Sun B.

Venue Three - Eglinton Cricket Club - Gort Na Drum A vs Donaghys B (Preliminary); - Winners play Riverside Bar A; Riverside Bar B vs Rsing Sun top flight A; Venue Four - Riverside Bar - McKeevers B vs Longfield B (Preliminary); Winners play Donaghys A;

Longfield A vs Donaghys C.

All the teams have already been named and can include one substitute each so if anyone has any queries of where they are playing or what team name they are under then call Ronan on (0781) 602 9665.

There will be one team winner from each pub progressing to the semi-finals and final on Thursday 25/02/10 in the Sportsman Inn.

The rules will be delivered to each pub before Thursday night.

The winner of each game must reach 10 points with the games starting with two sets of pairs three legs of 701 and then four games of singles three legs of 501 and then a possible 1001 with all players if it goes to a deciding leg if scores were 9-9. The order of the pairs and singles will be in the order the draw is made.

While in last week’s Avis Rent a Car sponsored Eglinton & District Darts League Donaghys B lost 12-1 to McKeevers, Eglinton Cricket Club lost by a similar score-line to Gort Na Drum, Riverside Bar A had a 10-4 victory over Longfield A, but no scoresheet returned; Rising Sun top flight had a narrow 9-6 success over Donaghys A, while Riverside Bar B had a 8-5 win over Rising Sun, there was no score-sheet returned from the final game of Sportsman Inn versus Longfield B.

The least darts of the week was an impressive 13 dart leg from John Monteith (McKeevers) and he also had a 20 dart leg.

The other good legs were from Conrad Watson (Rising Sun top flight) 15 and 21 darts, Dominic Begley (Riversde Bar B) 17 darts,

Dermott McGuinness (Donaghys A) 19 and 20 darts, Brian Harkin (McKeevers) 19 darts, Christie Fisher (McKeevers) 19 darts,

Michael McCloskey (Rising Sun top flight) 20 darts.

League Table after 17 games sees McKeevers on top with 176 points, second is Riverside Bar A on 169 points, third are Rising Sun top flight on 155 points, fourth are Donaghys A on 147 points and fifth spot is currently held by Gort Na Drum with 129 points, sixth are Riverside Bar B who have 123 points.

While the league points above do not include last weeks result in the game involving Sportsman Inn versus Longfield B.
