Curran begin new campaign with win
Curran Ladies began their 2014 Northern Ireland Women’s Bowling Association Junior League campaign with a comfortable home victory over Antrim Lawn.
Lynda Simms’ rink, with E. Magill at lead S. McDermott second and Joyce Spiers third, led by 10-1 after nine ends. Steady bowling during the second nine ends ensured a 20-shot to nine-shot win.
E. Miller, S. Greer, Rene Gallagher, skipped by Valerie Noble, had a very solid start leading by 11-4 after nine ends. This quartet coasted home with a final tally of 24-13.
Result: Curran 44 (5 points) v Antrim Lawn 22 (0 points). Next up: Curran Ladies v Carrick LBC (Thursday, May 8).
