Curran Ladies lose out to Newry

Curran Ladies travelled to Newry on league duty this week. Having defeated the league leaders on two occasions during the season, expectations were high.

Newry, however, took revenge with a 42-shot to 21-shot victory, securing all five points. Lynda Simms’s rink of S. McDermott, J. Moore and J. Spiers lost by 26 to 13.

M. Hardy, E. Magill, R. Gallagher, skipped by Valerie Noble, went down 16 shots to eight.

Result: Newry 42 shots (five points) v Curran 21 shots (0 points).

Curran Ladies’ next match is on Thursday, July 19 when they entertain Ardenlee B.C. (Belfast). The game commences 2.30pm.

Congratulations to Valerie Noble, Joyce Spiers, June Moore, Sally Greer and Eileen Magill who were selected to represent N.I.W.B.A. Junior League in the Inter Provincial Championships played at Belmont B.C.
