Curran Ladies see off Wedderburn

Curran Ladies got the better of Wedderburn Bowling Club on Thursday, winning by four points to one.

Joyce Spiers’ rink of S. Greer, P. Blair and R. Gallagher were in fine form entering the second nine ends with the game tied at eight shots apiece. On the second nine this rink played extremely well, adding sixteen shots to emerge winners by 24 shots to 15.

Lynda Simms’s rink of E. Miller, S. McDermott and E. Magill, however, could not get the ‘read of the green’ trailing after 10 ends by 17 shots to 3. Simms rallied her troops to claim 13 shots over the remaining eight ends, eventually going down by 22 shot to 16.

Result: Wedderburn LBC 37 shots (1 point) v Curran LBC 40 shots (4 points). On Thursday (June 19), Curran travel to take on Dromore LBC in a NIWBA Junior League tie. Curran Ladies express their ‘thanks’ to all those who supported their Sponsored Walk.
