Curran’s winning run continues

On their first away fixture of the season to Ardenlee, Curran Ladies continued their winning run returning with full points.

Both visiting rinks carde a 16 shot-winning margin. Lies of five, four and another five shots put Sally Greer, Pauline Blair, Rene Gallagher skipped by Valerie Noble into a 16 - 3 lead after six ends.

Ardenlee fought back to reduce the deficit to five shots entering the eleventh. A six on this end, followed by steady bowling, saw Curran run out deserving winners by 29 - 13.

Lynda Simms’ rink of Marwin Hardy, Eileen Magill and Joyce Spiers recorded winning lies on 12 of the 18 ends, returning a 24 - 8 card.

Result: Ardenlee LBC 21 (0 points) v. Curran LBC 53 (5 points). Curran are set to host Newry, 2013 champions, in the preliminary round of the Joyce Kavanagh Trophy on Wednesday May 21.

On wThursday Dromore, runners-up in 2013, will vist Curran Park in a NIWBA Junior league game.
