The Granville man had a good showing at last seasons Omagh Three Day and is already producing the kind of form that could see him upgrade to A3 in the near future.

It was an excellent weekend for East Tyrone after U16 Champion Jake Gray clinched second place in the A3 Event after getting special dispensation from Cycling Ireland to compete in selected Senior Races as a member of the Talent 2020 Development Squad.

East Tyrone had their strongest showing numerically at an open event this season with good results throughout. Colin Ramsay secured a well earned fifth place in the Masters Event with Ann McFarland placing tenth. Lorraine Jeffers finished ninth in the Women’s race.

Meanwhile Ellie Kelso who already this season took the Overall honours in the MTB Spring Series and the Lakeland MTB Series for U12 Girls has continued her dominance by winning Sunday’s opening round of the Ulster Championships at Kilbroney Park Rostrevor. Neil Kelso took another good third place in the U10 Boys race.

There will be a Ladies Club Run which meets at 10am Saturday mornings outside Asda under the canopy. It will be approximately 2 hour run each week, picking the speed up hopefully as participants go but the pace is with the slowest rider. There is a stop off half way around for a coffee and a chat.

The club aim to improve group riding skills and any that are interested in learning to race in the club races, there will be advice etc. on this also. The pace at the minute is an average 11mph so its a great time for new ladies or even juniors to start. This may change to an evening run instead when the time changes and the evenings get longer.
