Cycling: East Tyrone enjoy Annaghmore success

The East Tyrone Club have taken the overall lead in the A section of the five Inter Club League after last week’s second Round promoted by the Island Wheelers at Annaghmore.

With Gary Jeffers placing second, Jake Gray fourth, Harvey Barnes seventh and Jason Glasgow, Neil McGeown and Colin Ramsay all in the top 20 and amassing enough points to put the East Tyrone at the top of the leader board fifteen points ahead of their near neighbours Harps CC.

John McCann was the best placed in the B Race with Lorraine Jeffers, Keith Wallace and Ian Barnes well in contention.

The Island Wheelers are to be congratulated on a well organised event with lead cars for all groups and all junctions well marshalled.

Meanwhile Ellie Kelso got back to winning ways in the Under 12 Girls Mountain Bike race at Lady Dixon Park, Belfast, last weekend.

The event was Round 3 of the National Point Series and the third round of the Ulster Cross Country Series with the East Tyrone school girl among the favourites for overall honours in both competitions.

Neil Kelso placed third in the Under 10 Boys event with Keith Warwick fifth in the A4 Senior race and Leslie Mitchell also a strong finisher.

The race action this Thursday 5th June is Round Three of the Somerville Body Repairs TT League over 10 Miles on the Omagh Road starting at Kildress Plumbing Supplies at 7.30pm.

Neil Kelso placed third in the Under 10 Boys Event with Keith Warwick fifth placed A4 Senior and Leslie Mitchell also a strong finisher.
