CYCLING: Kealey opens up with a flyer

TIME trial specialist, Sean Kealey presented before the time keeper for the first time this season last Tuesday night for a 10-mile time trial on the Ballybogy Road course.

This is usually a fast course, however, the stiff head wind on the second half of the race was expected to slow the testers down on the night. Coleraine man Kealey however was in no mood to let minor issues such as head winds interrupt his plans. Sean opened his season with a fantastic time of 22 minutes 25 seconds and the big man seems certainly intent on some fast times this season.

Iron-man Ronnie Kidd produced another superb time to take second in 23.52, Rodney Young of Carn Wheelers rode strongly, taking third in 24.35, fourth was Ballymoney man Jimmy Davidson in 24.45.
